The 2019 Photography Prize winners

For the 9th edition of the “Residence for Photography” Prize, the jury met from 24 to 26 January 2020. Among the 75 applications received and the 33 files selected, it awarded the projects of Sylvie Hugues, M ‘hammed Kilito and Jean-François Spricigo which are presented on the foundation’s website.

The three winners receive a monthly allowance of € 2,650 for two or three months as well as a one-month residency each at the Fondation des Treilles in the Var, where they have at their disposal a film laboratory, a digital workshop, and the foundation library. They will also be able to count on artistic support and technical monitoring for the realization of their projects.

This year, the jury, chaired since 2014 by Laura Serani (artistic director, exhibition curator and author) was composed of Jacques Borgetto (photographer), Hassan Ezzaïm (Art and Culture director of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the promotion of Social Works, Education-Training, in Morocco), Claire Lebel (member of the board of directors of the Fondation des Treilles), Jean-Luc Monterosso (correspondent of the Academy of Fine Arts, founder and former director of the “Maison Européenne de la Photography”), Sarah Moon (photographer, film director) and Ricardo Vazquez (chief heritage curator, director of sports and youth culture at the Var departmental council).
