In 1981 and 1982, the first sessions (gathering during several weeks researchers from different disciplines) were not focused on a particular topic. It quickly became apparent that the nature of the exchanges required organizing shorter multidisciplinary meetings around a specific theme. Thus emerged in 1983, the first “conferences”, since 2005 called “seminars”, a term more suitable for the duration of the meeting and the limited number of participants. In 1986 was hosted the first “residential study” whose concept really took shape in the 90s: intended to host researchers or creators individually or in small groups, residential studies may last from one up to three weeks. Finally, since 2007, are also welcomed the winners of the various awards from the Foundation Treilles.
