Milestones in the history of the Foundation

1960-1963

Anne Gruner Schlumberger buys, fits out and restores the first houses of the Domaine des Treilles.

1964

The Fondation Schlumberger pour l’Education et la Recherche (Foundation Schlumberger for Education and Research) is created

1980

15-16 May: founding meeting of the Treilles scientific project

1981

February: the Foundation’s prefiguration association is created

September: The first seminar is hosted (multidisciplinary session)

1986

March: The Fondation des Treilles is recognised as being of public usefulness by the State

By a decree from the French Council of State, The “Fondation des Treilles” becomes a government-sanctioned Foundation of Public Interest.

1993

July: Death of Anne Gruner Schlumberger, Anne Poster-Vinay becomes chairwoman

2003

The website is launched

2004

June: First status reform, Maryvonne de Saint Pulgent becomes chairwoman

2005

December: The first exhibition entirely dedicated to the Treilles collection is held in Marseilles.

2007

February: Second status reform

May: Release of the first volume of the Entretiens des Treilles (Treilles interviews), published by Gallimard

July: The Foundation, is labelled “Etablissement Recevant du Public” (E.R.P.), thus certified as being a facility with quality infrastructure, respecting State health and Safety regulations.

2008

The authors’ residency prize is created

2009

March: inauguration of the Centre d’Etudes Littéraires Jean Schlumberger (Jean Schlumberger Centre for Literary Studies)

July: Registration of the Domaine des Treilles on the historical monuments additional registry

2010

May: creation of the Artistic and Cultural Heritage prize

2011

The Photography prize is created.
